I've noticed a trend in advertising over the past few months: Inspiration. Companies want to inspire you with ideas on how to decorate your home (Ikea), where to travel (Expedia) or what to buy for Valentine's Day (Amazon). If you don't feel inspired enough, how about Inspiration the perfume (Lacoste)? I was even surprised to see HMV jumping on the bandwagon, with an apparently irrelevant use of the term – "Be Inspired" by watching 24?
It's a reflection of a strong economy. The message is inspiration and aspiration rather than saving money or improving quality as have been the trend in the past.
